Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about our terrace and garden design services in Salzburg.

Do I need a building permit for a terrace in Salzburg?

It depends on size, height, and location. Ground-level patios under 40 m² often fall under freier Bau, but rooftop and elevated terraces usually require a Bauantrag. Spectmunti assesses permit requirements during the initial consultation and handles submissions on your behalf.

How long does a typical terrace project take?

Design phase: 3–6 weeks. Construction: 4–8 weeks for a standard terrace. Combined garden and terrace projects typically require 8–14 weeks. Weather and permit timelines can extend schedules — we provide realistic dates upfront.

Why pine and stone together?

Pine (especially larch) offers warmth, flexibility, and natural beauty underfoot. Stone provides durability, drainage, and a timeless Alpine character. Together they create terraces that feel inviting yet withstand Salzburg's freeze-thaw cycles. See our materials page for details.

Are your prices in EUR?

Yes. All quotations, invoices, and website guide prices are in EUR and include 20% Austrian VAT. Spectmunti GmbH UID: ATU72945618. See our pricing page for guide figures.

Do you work outside Salzburg city?

Yes. We regularly serve the Salzkammergut, Pinzgau, and Flachgau. Travel costs for initial consultations outside Salzburg city are quoted separately. Contact us to confirm coverage for your location.

What warranty do you offer?

Two-year workmanship guarantee on all construction. Material warranties vary: 10 years on larch decking structure, lifetime on stone laying workmanship. Maintenance contracts extend wood treatment and inspection coverage.

Can you work on heritage-protected buildings?

Yes. We have experience with Denkmalschutz requirements in the Salzburg Altstadt and consult with heritage authorities early in the design process to ensure material and form choices are approvable.
