A well-designed terrace extends your home into the open air — a place for morning coffee overlooking the Kapuzinerberg, summer dinners with friends, and quiet winter evenings wrapped in a wool blanket. At Spectmunti, we specialise in terraces that balance beauty, engineering, and the demands of the Alpine climate.
Pine & Stone in Harmony
Our signature approach pairs silver-grey larch decking with locally quarried gneiss or limestone paving. Pine brings warmth underfoot and a natural scent that stone alone cannot provide. Stone anchors the structure — steps, borders, retaining walls, and fire pit surrounds that ground the design and handle freeze-thaw cycles year after year.
🌲 Pine Elements
Deck boards, bench seating, pergola beams, cladding, and planter boxes. All timber is FSC-certified, pressure-treated where needed, and finished with UV-protective oils.
🪨 Stone Elements
Paving slabs, cobble borders, dry-stack walls, and drainage channels. We work with Hallein limestone, Tauern gneiss, and imported granite for high-traffic zones.
Terrace Types We Build
- Rooftop terraces — Lightweight substrate systems, waterproof membranes, and windbreak planting for Altstadt apartments.
- Hillside platforms — Stepped terraces with retaining walls and integrated drainage on Mönchsberg and Nonntal slopes.
- Ground-level patios — Seamless transitions from interior flooring to outdoor stone and deck combinations.
- Courtyard retreats — Compact urban spaces maximised with vertical planting and built-in seating.
Engineering & Drainage
Salzburg receives over 1,200 mm of precipitation annually. Every Spectmunti terrace includes a graded fall, concealed drainage, and breathable sub-base layers to prevent water pooling and frost heave. Structural calculations are provided for elevated and rooftop installations.
